A tragic incident claimed the life of a man, aged 24. A multi-vehicle crash in East Las Vegas happened on Sunday leaving one dead and seven people injured. According to the Police, this devastating incident occurred in East Las Vegas at 5270 South Pecos Road, near East Hacienda Avenue. The crash involved six vehicles. Officers immediately responded to the crash around 2 p.m., said Lt. Brain Boxler.

It has been revealed by the Police that before the crash in East Las Vegas there were three cars on Pecos Road driving towards north and two cars were on the Hacienda intersection driving south. These five drivers had a green light.

According to the Police, the accident took place when a Honda driver headed east on Hacienda ran a red light into the intersection. The two cars that were going south hit the Honda on Pecos Road. The impact caused all three cars to slide across the roadway striking three northbound cars.

The driver of Honda, a 24-year-old man died at the scene, said Police.

Seven people sustained injuries from the other five cars. They were rushed to nearby hospitals. Five people suffered moderate injuries. A 70-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was in critical condition while another person sustained minor injuries.

Following the accident, Pecos Road remained closed for several hours in both directions at Hacienda. It was expected that the road will reopen Sunday evening. Once the relatives will be informed, the Clark County coroner’s office will reveal the identity of the deceased.
