Woman Killed in I-15 Crash Identified by Coroner

Initially, it was reported that one person was killed in an I-15 crash in South Las Vegas Valley. The tragic crash happened on Wednesday night. The time of the I-15 crash was around 10 p.m. according to the reports. On June 30th, Nevada Highway Patrol received a complaint call about a gray Jeep SUV. It was reported that the driver was recklessly driving the SUV on I-15 northbound towards Starr Avenue.

Another report was given to the agency. It stated that the vehicle struck the center median impacting the attenuator head-on. This caused the vehicle to turn into the road. After the impact, the SUV hit a black Cadillac and a golden Toyota that was traveling northbound. The driver sustained life-threatening injuries. She was immediately rushed for catering to her injuries to the University Medical Center. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol report, she died on the way.

The driver has been identified by the Clark County Coroner’s Office as, Kelly Cover, aged 40. The death of the driver has been considered an accident. Cover died due to blunt force injuries. This incident was the 38th fatal crash causing 46 deaths in 2021 according to Nevada Highway Patrol.
