A Las Vegas Wrong-Way Crash near Rancho Drive resulted in the untimely deaths of two people.

The crash occurred on Saturday. A man has been arrested by Nevada Highway Patrol under the suspicion of driving under influence. Spokeswoman of Highway Patrol Ashlee Wellman said that the troopers were called at the scene of the Las Vegas wrong-way crash at 8 a.m. and the driver and passenger in a pickup truck died at the crash scene.

According to the investigators, a car struck a pickup truck in a head-on collision. The car has been identified as a Chevrolet Silverado. A man was traveling in the Chevrolet, southbound in northbound lanes when the accident happened. Another passenger car, identified as Volkswagen was struck by the Chevrolet which later caught fire. The passenger of the Volkswagen suffered minor injuries.

The driver coming from the wrong way was immediately taken to the University Medical Center. He suffered moderate injuries. The man was arrested on the driving under influence suspicion.

The Clark County coroner’s office will assist in the identification of the two people who died in this accident. Wellman said the U.S. 95, northbound past Martin Luther King Boulevard exit ramp was closed on Saturday morning.

Drivers were advised to plan their schedule as delays were expected and the drivers were advised to use other routes as the interchange between northbound Interstate 15 and northbound U.S. 95 were also closed.
