A tragic incident occurred on June 23rd, 2021 near Judson Avenue and Christy Lane at the 2200 block of Castleberry Lane. A man identified as, Carlos Cabrera, aged 22 was arrested. He was held for sexually assaulting the woman, after her father was killed in Las Vegas.
LVMPD received a 911 call at 3 a.m. about the incident. Cabrera was arrested from the scene of the incident . Blood was seen in one of the bedrooms leading away from the room and a corpse where an older man was killed in Las Vegas. According to reports, the daughter was in her room when she heard a noise and thought someone was in their hallway. She stated when she was about to call the police, she heard shouting coming from another room. She saw Cabrera and her father fighting while blood was dripping. She tried to pull Cabrera upon which Cabrera put a knife to her throat and took her to the bedroom. He explained he was trying to talk to her but no one allowed it.
While holding the knife Cabrera sexually assaulted her. According to the arrest report, Cabrera acted normal afterward and went out to look for his glasses when the woman informed her friend about the incident. The police arrived and the woman convinced Cabrera that she would go out through the front door and he tried to flee the scene of the incident through the back door. Cabrera accepted that he killed the father and also sexually assaulted the woman.
Cabrera is currently facing charges of kidnapping, coercion, murder, burglary, and sexual assault. On June 24, Cabrera was denied bail in the court. On June 29, his next court appearance is scheduled.
